  • Roasted Beet and Goat Cheese Salad

    Made for August's CCC, the Lynn Crawford Roasted Beet & Goat Cheese salad was a huge hit at my dinner table this evening. I have to say my previous experience with beets was either eating those little syrup-covered cubes as a kid at my grandmother's house, or when I cooked and pureed it for my daughter when she was an infant - neither prepared

    I made my daughter's first foods - she was especially fond of broccoli, and I could get her to try almost anything if I mixed half a banana with it - then gradually weaned off the banana. I like the fact that when you make your own you control not only what goes into it, but what flavours your baby gets to experience. I certainly never saw jars

    Sure can KanupriyaD - I started saving a lot of my favourite recipes online so I don't have to keep rummaging through my cookbook shelves every time I want a specific recipe.     Tonight: cheese enchiladas in green sauce... the green in the sauce comes from not only the green chilies but from chopped spinach as well... super spicy and delish!

    My first-ever attempt at vegetarian cabbage rolls was a success this week... I was a bit intimidated by a couple of "they're a LOT of work" comments thrown my way when I said I was going to try, but I thought they weren't that hard and were certainly delicious. Well worth the work!
