THE OPENER: premiering on Tuesday, August 31 @ 9pm

If David Adjey wasn’t a chef, he’d be a rock star. I mean the man's got style – he has a Louis Vuitton Ipad case for Pete's sake; he loves fast cars -- he was picking up his brand new corvette the day we dropped by (black, of course); and he loves to entertain – a fridge full of wine, beer, champagne and duck confit.

David is a riot on and off the camera. And yes a bit of a flirt with those blue Nordic eyes. He holds nothing back as you’ll see in his new hour-long series, The Opener premiering next Tuesday, August 31st, where David helps newbie restaurateurs with his expertise and experience.

We’re pretty psyched about his new show here at Food Network Canada HQ and I think you will be too. After all, you all were instrumental in helping to come up with the name, remember?

Just when you think you've got David figured out, he surprises you. For example, did you know the man collects ceramic egg cups?! Yup, you read that right. One of his most prized egg cups, with the stamp “made in occupied Japan,” is from his mom. Awwww….

He was incredibly generous with his time, and kept Terry, Dave and I entertained for the full two hours we descended on his bachelor pad.

David will be participating in our forum so you’ll hopefully get a chance to get your questions answered by The Opener himself.

Watch Our Hosts Do Battle in Mexico Airing Saturday

A few months back we gave Food Network Canada hosts Nadia G, David Adjey, Anthony Sedlak, Roger Mooking and Chuck Hughes Flip cameras to capture their shenanigans as they headed to Mexico for a week of food competition.

They brought back some great behind-the-scenes footage including Anthony’s visit to a dog sanctuary, Nadia G. trying on some fetching masks and Chuck’s new tattoo. Food Network Mexican Fiesta, the one-hour special of their week-long Mexico trip is airing this weekend (Saturday at 8pmET/5pmPT, Sunday 12pmET/9pmPT).

Our hosts will face off in three Iron Chef-style challenges using exotic ingredients such as fresh barracuda and cactus pads.

The final installment of the Food Fiesta wraps up tonight on ET Canada at 7pm on Global TV! All week long we've been featuring the behind-the-scenes action caught on Flip cams by the Chefs during their stay in Mexico. We're wrapping it up here with a couple more exclusive scenes. The remaining 3 Food Network Celebrity Chefs take on the Chefs of the Valentin Imperial Maya Resort for our final Chef Challenge. Our two previous Food Network winners join the VIMR’s Executive Chef as judges.
