  • Gordon Ramsay Cookalong Live Redux with Video

Despite the chaos surrounding our first Gordon Ramsay Cookalong Live ( my ridiculous expression says it all, doesn’t it?), I have to agree with Jess, who posted in the forum, that she kinda wants to do it again. Me too! It WAS fun but as Val suggests, be sure you have a big group cooking with you. Gordon Ramsay Cookalong Live airs again this weekend on Food Network ( click here for the times and the important shopping list ). There’s a slight chance I may round up some friends for another stab at the menu: Angel Hair Pasta with Shrimp, Chili Peppers and Tomatoes, Steak Diane with Sautéed Potatoes and Peas and Quick Tiramisu. If you’re still on the fence about cooking along, I’ve put together a video of the evening. Doesn’t it look like a good time? Related: We Cooked Along with Gordon Ramsay and Survived (Barely!) • We Cooked Along with Gordon Ramsay and Survived (Barely!)

It was insane but lots of fun. I’m talking about Gordon Ramsay Cookalong Live last night on Global TV. If you missed it, don’t worry. It’s airing again tonight on Food Network Canada at 10pmET/7pmPT . I should confess that it took three of us (at times four with Elana’s husband pitching in) to cook along with Gordon Ramsay . Most of the hour bordered on chaos with Jessica yelling out measurements from her computer while live blogging and tweeting , Elana, her husband and I trying not to destroy the kitchen as we chopped, cooked and flambéed(!) with Gordon. Lucky for you, Val captured most of the circus with the Flip camera, that’s of course when she wasn’t cooking herself. (We'll be posting that later). All to say there’s no way one person could do it alone, unless they had all the ingredients prepped and plenty of pots and pans on hand. Be sure to have your pot for pasta boiling by the time the show starts. Here's the ingredients list , read it carefully! If Chef Gordon wanted to give us a taste of the frenetic chaos that is the restaurant kitchen, he succeeded. He pushed us as only Gordon Ramsay could but at the end of the hour we had a beautiful three-course meal that looked as good as it tasted. See for yourself. • Gordon Ramsay Wouldn’t Say NO to American Idol

In a recent interview , celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay was quoted saying “...If he’s going to retire, Christ, I would consider stepping in; definitely, of course I would" when asked if he’d ever be interested in taking over for the often egregious but admittedly addictive Simon Cowell , on the American Idol panel of judges. Kinda funny, I say. Would you take Gordon seriously as a talent judge? • Video of the Week: Gordon Ramsay in Conversation with Peter Oliver, Part 2 and 3

As promised, we've got more from the interview with Gordon Ramsay we filmed in Toronto earlier this year. Elana and I were lucky enough to be there live for the entire interview. In fact, she almost ran right into him! Read more about that and see part 1 of the interview. You can find part 3 of Peter Oliver's conversation with Gordon Ramsay on our video page.
