I was lucky enough to attend the launch party for Food Network’s newest show: Bitchin’ Kitchen . The party took place at one of Montreal’s hippest restaurants, Koko on St Laurent Street . Each table was adorned with kitschy food cans filled with pink roses and decorated with Bitchin’ Kitchen stickers. The night was an ode to Bitchin’ Kitchen’s novel approach to cooking. Check out the preview and you’ll understand. Host Nadia G . and her trio of sidekicks will be cooking up a storm in more ways than one. Bitchin’ Kitchen , which started as an online show, caught the eye of Leslie Merklinger , Director of Original Production for Food Network Canada. The show will definitely be bringing something new to the network –with the help of high heels, quirky muscle-heavy men and a healthy dose of attitude. (Bitchin' Kitchen's executive producer Joshua Dorsey, cover of Bitchin' Kitchen cookbook, music by Italian band Marco Calliari) The party started out with a touching speech by Nadia G. who spoke about how proud she was to be on Food Network Canada and all the hard work that led her to where she is now. No one was fooled by her petite stature, skin-tight zebra printed dress , silver stilettos and perfectly curled hair – this host knows what she stands for! A passionate lover of food, music and everything eccentric, she will be showing us the best meal to make before a break up, how to prepare an Italian feast and the perfect recipe to cure a hangover. Guests grinned and laughed at the previews of her show projected on a large screen during the party. The crowd was young and full of Nadia G. fans. Among them was fellow Montrealer and colleague Chuck Hughes , host of Chuck’s Day Off . It’s always nice to see fellow Food Network Canada hosts supporting one another.
