  • Eye Candy: Juicy Burgers

Since I previously declared that it's the time of the season for (burger) lovin' , there's no better topic for this month's Eye Candy post than juicy burgers topped with all manner of deliciousness. I hope these burgers will inspire you to fire up your BBQ and get creative! Above: Cutting a burger in half may seem strange, but in terms of presentation, it's a great idea. Just look at all of the beef short rib just waiting to be munched in Tales of an LA Addict's photo. Yum! Beside it is richtermicha's bistro burger with crinkle-cut fries - my favourite! Above: How's this for a tastiness triple-threat? First up is aloalo's colourful burger (from Lonsdale Quay Market in North Van) and Smooth Dude's sky-high Aussie Burger. I also love the flecks of colour in Garry's veggie burger. Above: These are just two of the many burger photos from pouryourheartintoit, who is obviously a huge fan of hamburgers. Both the double cheese burger on the left and the single on the right are topped with seven slices of bacon. SEV-EN! Got your own mouthwatering food photos to share? We're always looking for tasty shots for the Food Network Canada Flickr pool . Next month I'm featuring photos of tasty berry desserts - upload yours and you could be featured in the next post! I love pizza. I do not love olives. Still, this photo from Greenbelter has me recosidering. Let us just pause for a moment, join hands, and consider the deliciousness of this photo, shall we? Ok, now this is what I'm talkin' about: VancityAllie's snap of some Seoul food and DeadBetty's two-tonne cheese explosion. Mouth watering sequence commence! Here's another tasty twosome: a classic Margherita pizza from Jim and a dessert-interpretation of the Margherita pizza from Saladito . And finally, some inventive pies: you can count on me's Mexican Pizza (click the link for a recipe!), my zoetrope's Vegan White Pizza and Rachel's BBQ Chicken Pizza (also with a recipe). So many delicious pies, and I have yet to master the ability to summon food using sheer willpower! Which one is your favourite? I have to give the edge to the cheese bohemoth DeadBetty shot. How about you? And while I've got your attention, why not add your own tasty food shots to the Food Network Canada Flickr pool and you could be featured on an upcoming Eye Candy post! • Eye Candy: Colourful Sushi Rolls

I have to admit, even though I've come a long way from being a contender for pickiest eater in the universe, sushi is still on my no-go list, but even though I don't eat it, I still think sushi is one of the most appealing types of food in existence, and I love to look at a beautifully crafted roll. This time in Eye Candy, I'm featuring some of the most captivating sushi photos from the Food Network Canada flickr pool . Enjoy! Above: Four examples of sushi bursting with colour, texture, and visual appeal: thatgoddess' photo of ginger and roe-topped rolls, Bougi's tempting California rolls, corrosiveheart's too-cute-for-words bento box, and bitter-sweet's "wandering poet roll." Above: Helldiver's photo of a Chef's Choice platter (from a restaurant in Toronto) looks spectacular. That bright yellow mound on the roll to the left side of the plate is a quail's egg - interesting! Below it is aloalo's snap of a nigiri combo (cropped close-up for texture). Above: And here are four photos for the sushi-phobic, like yours truly: death by cupcake's dessert sushi platter, norwichnuts' vegan fruit roll, velocity girl's fruit sushi, and Jocelyn's take on dessert sushi, which are made with crisp rice cereal! Take a look at the recipe , she swears they're a snap to make. That wraps up this month's Eye Candy Post. Next month will be all about pizza , so upload your tantalizing pizza photos to the Food Network Canada flickr pool and yours could be featured! • Eye Candy: Tacos and Salsa

Tacos are definitely in the top five for food I crave. Like "cake," I believe the word "tacos" should only be written all in caps, and with at least three exclamation points, but I will restrain myself for now. Putting together a collection of tempting taco and salsa photos from the Food Network Canada Flickr pool was a snap - turns out the community is just as excited about this street food staple as I am. So, without further adieu, let's celebrate the taco! Top: This delectable chorizo taco photo was snapped by Shon C in Mexico City. I cropped it extra close-up so you can see all the crispy black bits. Yum. Above: Here's a delicious foursome, no matter what your pleasure. On top, there's Cinnamon Rolls-Royce's guacamole taco (vegan) and NoNo Joe's triple-stack. On the bottom, we've got d.t.g's pork carnitas (including cooking notes) and jpysy gen's extra-crispy basic beef taco. Above: Tacos need salsa like Canadian tourists need SPF45 when travelling, and since salsa is naturally photogenic, I couldn't possibly leave it out of this round-up. Bitter-Sweet's simple version, Rachel's cucumbery interpretation and jen's salsa fresca all look fit to dip a chip. My next post will be all about sushi , so if you've got a photo, please upload it to our Flickr pool ! You can also upload photos to our community . Join today ! • Eye Candy: Thai Food Shots from the Foodnetwork.ca Flickr Pool

I probably haven't said this enough: there are some truly amazing photos in the Food Network Canada Flickr pool ! Putting together these Eye Candy posts can often be a blessing and a curse, especially when I have to face the disappointment of a plain old PB&J sandwich after (virtually) feasting on some mouth-watering food photos. Today, I've committed to Thai food for lunch, so this month's Round-Up will be a little easier to put together. Above: You can always count on you can count on me for some triple x-rated food porn, and this shot of Thai noodle soup is no exception. Garry Choo's vegetable rolls are also looking mighty fine. Chomp ! Above: Ok, it is now getting progressively harder to look at these photos and not run out for something to eat. Cranky Pants' spring rolls are killing me with their crispy goodness, Nisa's green mango salad looks so tasty, and Matt's Thai curry soup is completing the craving trifecta. Above: How about these for some tasty mains? You've got Jen's coconut baked rice (served in a coconut, no less) and tm_crazycat's Pad Thai. Above: Uh oh, it's dessert! Tara's melon in coconut milk (with recipe) and Elana's Thai iced tea (with recipe) are the perfect way to end a meal (or, in the case of the tea, drink throughout the whole thing). Too bad that replicator from Star Trek isn't available yet. "Tea. Thai. Cold." Oh well, someday... Got your own mouth-watering photos to share?
