Luckily, Terry has already taken care of this for you. Earlier in the season he headed out to Teatro restaurant in Toronto’s Little Italy to shoot some holiday drink demos. The awesome mixologist, Renata Clingen , showed us this great presentation tip for her deliciously-named Caramel Swirl Martini (oh yeah!). • Video of the Week: Fancy Bartending Moves

Whether you call it performance bartending, flair bartending or extreme bartending, the art of putting on a good show behind the bar is serious business. It takes skill, showmanship and solid mixology knowledge. Legends of Bartending , held in Las Vegas, Nevada is perhaps the Olympics of flair bartending, where participants can win upwards of $20,000 and become celebrities in their own rights. If you're interested in learning this craft, check out a reputable bartending school in your neck of the woods. If you're quite content to just watch the show (as I am!), check out the fancy moves of Mixologist Chris Cooper, below. • Video of the Week: How to Shake a Cocktail

How hard could it be to shake a cocktail you ask? As mixologist Chris Cooper explains, you want to grip the cocktail shaker with your thumbs securing the top and always go over your shoulder like a continental soldier so that the ingredients hit the bottom of the glass in every maraca shake. Then knock that glass loose and you’re ready to pour. But, I don’t do the man's demonstration justice. Watch and see for yourself! • Video of the Week: Rum-tastic Cocktails

The mighty cocktail is making it's summertime return folks! Timely then that we should be bringing you some video from an event we covered thrown by the good folks at Bacardi Rum. It seems as though the vodka-based cocktail snobs are going to be all in a huff as rum-based tipples make a resurgence. Now really, must we choose between the two? A good spirit is any spirit that puts one in a good spirit, savvy? Other cocktail trends to look out for include a shift towards savoury drinks (that means no more kaleidoscope-coloured concoctions served with half a fruit basket) and the introduction of vitamin-rich additives and full servings of vegetables. Herbs and spices are also getting into the mix which just goes to show the art of the drink is increasingly becoming more of a legitimate culinary undertaking. Of course, having said all of that, when it came time for me to have my signature cocktail created what do I request: lots of fruit and sugar (sophisticated, I ain't). Photographer Zach Slootsky took one look at it and declared, "Now, that's a baby-maker." Crass, but probably true! Neverthless, our charming mixologist, Chris Cooper, took into account my favourite flavours (mango and mint) and without judgement whipped up the delicious drink I christened, "The Island Girl's Dream."
